Patent ductus arteriosus Diagnosis
Some tests use to diagnosis for Patent ductus arteriosus:
X-ray: mild Patent ductus arteriosus may be normal. If large quantity diffluence, and increased pulmonary vascular shadow, raised pulmonary artery, pulsatility enhanced. The left atrium, the left and right ventricle increased aortic expansion.
ECG: moderate shunt are left ventricular hypertrophy, a larger shunt may have the right and left ventricular hypertrophy, left atrial hypertrophy.
Echocardiography: the left atrium, left ventricle increased, widened aorta and patent ductus arteriosus showed that diameter and length. Doppler ultrasound may be the main, the remote detection of pulmonary systolic and diastolic period of turbulence spectrum.
Cardiac catheterization: show pulmonary arterial blood oxygen content is higher than 0.5% of the volume of the right ventricle. Pulmonary hypertension increased in varying degrees, and sometimes cardiac catheterization may be through the ductus from the pulmonary artery catheter into the descending aorta. Aortography when necessary, aorta and pulmonary artery can be seen developing at the same time and location of specific catheter is not closed, shape and size.
