Osteochondroma Causes

Definite Causes of Osteochondroma is unknown, possible causes include:

1) Caused by congenital defects in embryo pulp;

2) Caused by misplaced epiphyseal plate displacement;

3) the residual from the inner periosteum naive cells, or metaplasia of the cartilage cells from the growth, osteophyte formation;

4) Caused by periosteal growth is not complete, can not restrain the proliferation of epiphyseal cartilage deformities caused by cartilage into osteophyte;

5) Caused by the course of the long bone epiphyseal do a total loss of the ability to do modeling widened epiphyseal and continuous proliferation and the formation of osteophyte

In recent years, some people think, the disease of acid mucopolysaccharide and related metabolic disorders. Multiple osteochondromatosis of children with urinary excretion of acid mucopolysaccharide in the volume increased, but the adult patient has a normal excretion. Studies suggest that excretion of children is increasing because of the reason why there is a large number of cartilage caused by the body. With age, sophisticated osteochondroma, cartilage components decrease the excretion of acid mucopolysaccharide is bound to be reduced also.
