Osteitis deformation Causes
Osteitis deformation (Paget's disease) causes is unknown, it is possibly caused by metabolic bone disease of chronic invasive. Deformation had osteitis inflammation, cancer, endocrine disorders, abnormal blood supply, autoimmune and connective tissue metabolism in various hypotheses, such as birth defects, but the lack of sufficient evidence. At present, many think Osteitis deformation is caused by a chronic viral infection, the evidence are:
Ultrastructural observation revealed that osteoclasts within the nucleus and the cytoplasm has a typical inclusion body (mucus may be a deputy of the virus envelope protein) with respiratory syncytial virus in cultured cells very similar to the inclusions;
The disease has a long incubation period, clinical course was subacute;
Bone damage in this disease and bone formation accompanied by fibrosis is a chronic inflammatory reaction;
Lesion of a large number of multinucleated giant cells may be multinucleated syncytial giant cells are left over;
The disease must have regional;
Many cases there is family history.
Osteitis deformation pathology: involvement of bone cells and osteoclast-rich osteogenic cells, bone marrow invasion by fibrous connective tissue, rich in blood supply. In general, the pathological changes happen more and more for repeated heavy bone resorption. Then over-repair situation, bone becomes deformed, fragile bone, long bones can be bent flat deformable bone, and the occurrence of pathological fractures.
