Leiomyosarcoma
Based on the different site of Leiomyosarcoma, it can be classified three types: the skin, subcutaneous type ; retroperitoneal, mesenteric type ; vascular type. Cause of Leiomyosarcoma is unknown, may be related to environmental, genetic, trauma.
Pathology of Leiomyosarcoma: 1. The naked eye can see tumor round, nodular, the majority of tumor boundaries clear, firm texture. Section was off-white or gray red fish-shaped, may be accompanied by hemorrhage, necrosis. 2. Endoscopic tumor cells was seen in a long spindle size, nuclear at both ends of a blunt round size, cytoplasm pink, containing varying amount of longitudinal myofibril.
Symptoms of Leiomyosarcoma: 40 ~ 60-year-old found, more in the uterus and the gastrointestinal, occurred in the limbs, the general course of a long, easy to recur after local excision, blood line can be transferred to the lungs, liver and other organs, a small number of transfers to local lymph nodes. For the elderly patients, children with soft tissue low-grade leiomyosarcoma, a better prognosis.
Diagnosis for Leiomyosarcoma: Diagnosed by X-ray examination and microscopical examination. X-Ray: a single hair can be seen in the metaphysis to the process from the cortex of the bone and soft tissue processes, and its cortical and cancellous bone in order to narrow or broad pedicle associated with normal bone, medullary cavity connected to each other, protruding surface cartilage cap not developing, varying thickness, sometimes irregular calcified shadow. Microscopical test: the tumor cells were long spindle size, nuclear at both ends of a blunt round size, cytoplasm pink, containing varying amount of longitudinal myofibril.
Treatment for Leiomyosarcoma: Wide local excision is the main treatment of leiomyosarcoma, should lymph node metastasis who should be held in lymph node dissection, and pulmonary metastases have a positive attitude should be taken for the purposes of removal of metastatic tumors. Uncertain efficacy of radiotherapy for local excision can not complete radiotherapy. chemotherapy include ADM, VCR, CTX and other drugs.
