Hypomagnesemia Symptoms
Mild hypomagnesemia is asymptomatic, often accompanied by other electrolyte disorders. The common symptoms of hypomagnesemia are as follows:
1. Neuromuscular: muscle weakness, cramps, pumping take hold, muscle fiber tremor, dizziness, ataxia, and expression of indifference. In addition there is also nystagmus, dysphagia, light or reduced hyperreflexia, convulsions and coma. The spirit of the performance can for depression, paranoia, anxiety, irritability, excitability, hallucinations, delirium disorder and loss of orientation.
2. Heart: can have cardiac arrhythmia, such as frequent atrial or ventricular premature beat, many of endogenous atrial tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation, which can lead to sudden death. Magnesium deficiency-induced heart failure can also happen.
3. Metabolism: Magnesium metabolism of carbohydrates in anaerobic and aerobic metabolism of energy generated is important, magnesium deficiency can cause impaired glucose tolerance, and because of changes in metabolism can lead to atherosclerosis.
4. Bones: long time magnesium deficiency can lead to osteoporosis and bone softening.
